The New England Patriots quarterback returned to practice on Friday after missing the previous two sessions with right finger, right shoulder and rib injuries. Brady was listed as questionable on the injury report for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Linebacker Jeff Ulbrich is retiring after 10 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. Ulbrich said Friday that the time had come to make the decision.

Sanchez sprained the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against Buffalo last Thursday. Coach Rex Ryan decided to sit him against the Buccaneers earlier this week.
