Josh Beckett's next start has been pushed back a few days while the Boston Red Sox try to determine the cause of lingering numbness in the his right hand. "We've got to figure out what ... it is," Beckett said Tuesday. "Obviously, (being pushed back) is not what I want, but at this juncture it needs to happen." Beckett was scheduled to pitch Saturday against Toronto.
Reds RHP Belisle done for rest of season (AP)

Reds right-hander Matt Belisle is done for the season after having surgery on his right knee. Belisle had a torn ligament repaired on Tuesday, his second major injury of the season. Belisle competed for the final spot in the rotation during spring training, but developed a sore forearm that sidelined him until mid-April.
Hall of Famer Yastrzemski hospitalized (AP)

Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, the last player to hit for the Triple Crown, was hospitalized for tests Tuesday after experiencing chest pains. The Boston Red Sox confirmed the 68-year-old Yastrzemski was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital and was undergoing evaluation and testing. The team said no further information was immediately available on its longtime great.

Greg Maddux is back in Los Angeles for another stretch drive. The Dodgers announced Tuesday that they have reacquired Maddux and received cash from San Diego. The Padres will get two minor league players to be named or cash.
