A-Rod, Jeter hit milestone HRs in win (AP)
Yahoo Sports [07/12/2008]

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Litsch throws during the first inning of a baseball game against the New York Yankees, Saturday, July 12, 2008 in Toronto.

Alex Rodriguez passed Mickey Mantle on the major league home run list, and Derek Jeter hit No. 200 of his career to help the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-4 on Saturday. Rodriguez, Jeter and Brett Gardner each had three RBIs as the Yankees rebounded after being blanked 5-0 Friday night by Roy Halladay's two-hitter.

Sportsline [07/09/2008]
Owners are all hot under the collar for new Indian Matt LaPorta while Jesse Litsch just needs a little help to be a solid option. Our Al Melchior examines that and more in his latest By the Numbers.

Mussina wins ninth, Jeter passes Mantle (AP)
Yahoo Sports [06/04/2008]

New York Yankees Wilson Betemit, left, trots past Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Litsch after hitting a fourth-inning solo home run off Litsch in the Yankees 5-1 victory in a baseball game at Yankee Stadium in New York, Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

Mike Mussina has spent much of his 18-year career near the top of the American League leader board. Few expected him to get back there at age 39, however. Mussina tied for the AL lead in wins, Derek Jeter passed Mickey Mantle on the Yankees career hits list and New York played a crisp, compact ballgame in beating the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 Wednesday night.

Jesse Litsch won his fifth straight decision and extended his scoreless streak to 16 innings, Rod Barajas had three doubles and drove in three runs, and the Toronto Blue Jays took the rubber game from the Athletics with a 12-0 win Thursday.
