Arizona's Conor Jackson celebrated his 27th birthday face-down in the dirt at first base after a nasty eighth-inning collision, then Eric Bruntlett and Chase Utley rallied Philadelphia to victory. Bruntlett doubled in the tying run and Utley's single brought home what turned out to be the game winner as the Diamondbacks twice blew late-inning leads in a 5-4 loss to the Phillies on Wednesday night.

Arizona's Max Scherzer threw 98 mph fastballs in his first career start. Jamie Moyer, making in his 558th start, countered with an assortment pitches that topped out in the low 80s. Guile prevailed as Moyer went seven strong innings to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to an 11-4 rout of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night in a matchup of division leaders.
